Huge Stately White Oak
My wife and I were in town to see our first grandchild and, after lunch, went for a pleasant stroll over the MBTA commuter rail tracks, through a local path along a pond, and returned by the Town Park. I saw a massive White Oak that must have been there for a very long time.

RE: Summer Night Concert
During the summer in the Whitman Town Park is music provided by talented artist and musicians who play for all and it is open to the general public, free of charge. The attraction is usually centered around the gazebo for all to see and hear. Bring your own chairs or sit on the grass surrounding the gazebo.

Gem of Whitman
Whitman Town Park is a historic park near the center of the town. The park was established in 1880 by a gift of land from Augustus Whitman, whose family gave the town its name. The park has a playground, basket balls courts, baseball field, a bandstand, picnic tables, benches, a pond, and a seasonal community pool. The paths are easily walkable (nice flat, even terrain). The bandstand has free concerts (weekly) in the summer.
