Quonquont Farm, Massachusetts, United States

4.5 (11 reviews) Tuesday: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM Spent Ranking #1 in Whately Farms

Beautiful farmland to explore

Quonquont is one of the most beautiful farms in Massachusetts, in my humble opinion. The fruit, including blueberries, apples, and peaches, can be picked right off the trees. A great place for weddings and events as well.

Beautiful spot for a wedding and reception
We attended a wedding and reception here. It was an absolutely beautiful spot. The ceremony was in the apple orchard. In the summer it can be extremely hot with no real shade - except for on one side and everyone tries to sit or stand on that one side. One other problem is the way the seats are set up. The land is very flat and many of us were unable to see the actual ceremony as it is not on a raised part of the ground. That being said, I still would recommend the farm highly for a wedding - I would just make sure they were somehow able to help with better viewing options from the seats, and some kind of shade cover. They did provide water right at the ceremony, which was a Godsend! There were helpful, kind employees everywhere guiding us where to go, beginning with the time we drove in, then again helping us found our way through the orchard to the ceremony, then guiding us to the spot for the reception. They did a spectacular job. After the ceremony, we were guided to an outdoor patio that was lovely where we had drinks and appetizers. Once the wedding party was finished with pictures, they joined us there, and then we all went inside the large gorgeous barn which was decorated beautifully with lots of lights. It's rustic and charming, yet elegant at the same time. The whole thing was very well done.

    My first time apple picking!
We live within three+ orchards in the DE/PA area and they are bustling with activities on the weekends. When visiting my son at UMass, he suggested we go apple picking. We chose Quonquont Farm as we were searching because it was close by and didn’t seem to be expensive. At home I believe you have to pay to pick your own and pay for the apples as well. A rip off, if true. At Quonquont we simply chose one of three sized bags, were told where the signs were for the apple varieties, and did our own thing. Nothing special or fancy, though. Just apples and a small store with local products. I think we paid by volume. My husband loved the Fortune apples-less sweet. I liked the Jonathans, Macouns, and Cortlands. The staff was most helpful, and for me, the apple chart was an easy way to determine which to pick. There is a lovely stone building to the side of the property that can be reserved for weddings and other events. I would imagine there are special activities during the season, but we were not there for anything like that.
