Just enough rapids...lol

The trip on the Coosa was lovely. I had messed up our arrival time but the outfitter accommodated our party of ten gracefully. That was greatly appreciated No detail was left to chance with the information we were given. The day made a stellar memory for three generations of my family.

    Fantastic value, loved it
My husband and I decided to try kayaking the Coosa! I’ve had prior lake kayak experience (no rapids) and this was his first time in a kayak. The outer bands from Hurricane Ida were going to hit the Wetumpka area in the afternoon so we asked to switch to the morning run and we are glad we did! We were literally the only two people on the river- no one else- anywhere. It was a Monday at the end of august, overcast with some light rain near the end of our trip. The overcast/rainy day made the trip absolutely fantastic. I will say, my husband enjoyed the rapids a little more than I did. At one of the sections we separated accidentally and I went left into a maze of rocks and trees and he went right (backwards lol) down the rapids. So if I were to do it again, I’d say when in doubt, stay to the right. We didn’t have any tip-overs, and the scenery was second to none. Lots of beautiful birds, next time I’ll bring some waterproof binoculars. We had a head wind for the first half of the trip so it was a little bit of paddling but nothing intense. I can pretty confidently say that you will not get this kind of entertainment, for this long, for less money anywhere else. Added bonus, there’s a dog named shadow who’s a gem! Sweetest pupper ever!

    Wild ride
My wife and I (both 67) decided to do this. We do have to say, it was a bit more then we expected. Turn the canoe over at one white water rapid area and had to work our way to the bank to regroup. We are glad we did this and was able to write it off our bucket list. But probably won't do it again. For others, especially the young... HIGHLY recommend!!
