    My favourite place in Panajachel
The perfect place to spend a lazy day drinking coffee and chatting about the amazing collection of Mayan artifacts on display, that the owners family had previously kept as a private collection. There are some beautiful and pieces on display, including an intact human tooth with jade embedded within it! I really do love it here, and return every time I visit the lake!

Nice little museum also has a good patio restaurant
Patio is lovely, location is convenient (just off main drag Santander), service is good, staff is personable. Before/after your meal, browse thru the museum. It's a collection of privately owned Maya artifacts, and offered for display by the founder's granddaughter. Good bi-lingual signage. Probably more ancient jewelry here than you'll see elsewhere, including beads drilled with such tiny holes they're hard to reproduce today, even with modern technology. My favorite exhibit was a skull with teeth embedded with jewels. No admission charge if dining there. I visited with an OAT group.
