    Informative tour of ostrich farm
This was a working farm that offered a tractor tour around the farm with a guide to teach you all about ostriches. So we could feel how heavy an ostrich egg was and saw ostriches from tiny chicks to full grown adults. The guide told us all about ostriches as well as their difference to emus. There were a few emus there too for comparison. We also learned about the history of ostrich farming which was originally for feathers. We opted to go for the combined ticket that included lunch was was ostrich fillet and salad. It was a delicious meal. Then there was a gift shop selling ostrich goods including some lovely leather goods made from ostrich leather as well as other items like decorative egg shells and feather dusters. We found it informative and interesting. There are a number of farms offering different experiences and we chose this one because it high welfare standards and did not offer gimmicks like riding on ostriches

    I always learn something new
I was so shocked at how quiet it was. Usually there are so many people but I suppose that is what covid does. The tractor ride was fantastic. Our guide was informative, patient and enthusiastic. My kids loved it although they have done it many times before. We also had lunch there. The ostrich was good but not excellent. The highlight of lunch was the new goodies I got to try. Spekboom chutney and mustard with apricot sauce. The chutney was ok but we loved the mustard. It went so well with the ostrich. The tractor ride was free for the kids and they each got a little gift. Covid might be killing the tourism which this place needs. However, the real culprit of this dying industry, is the government. They have really given the farmers a rough deal.
