Hout Bay is a must
When people ask you to go for a drive insist that they take you to Hout Bay. Its a very scenic route and you will definitely have loads of photo opportunities from buskers at the harbour to grumpy seals but be warned do not pay the beggers for the seals to perform. There is a market with traditional tribal art and craft stalls and some can be a bit overpriced but barter. You should definitely go to Snoekies or Fish on the Rocks for something to eat if you want to hang out with the locals but it gets really busy during the festive season but worth it. You can also just relax and soak up the sun and atmosphere around you. Its a very enjoyable day out.

Nice Place
I took the bus to Hout Bay, from there you can walk along the beach towards the harbor, this is where you catch the boat to Seal Island for 110 Rand and about 45 mins so well worth it. Lots of vendors selling tourists merchandise and a bunch of places to get food and ice creams. If your in Cape Town goto Hout Bay.
