Nice museum and history

Nice museum to visit. Well maintained and the staff are very friendly. Very affordable as well. Walk around in the garden as well, the view is beautiful and the air cool and fresh. The stairs to go down into the ship are very steep, not advisable to pay the extra fee if you won't be able to go down.

    A good history lesson
We found it a bit difficult to find the place as there are renovations happening around the area currently & then the sign on the gate was totally confusing saying authorised staff only. With the assistance a the security guard we managed to find our way in , cost R30pp. The centrepiece is obviously the main attraction and the replica boat is still in very good condition. You able to access the upper & lower decks , good for a few pics It is a small museum with lots of bits of information to read & some artefacts . If you enjoy history then you could easily spend a few hrs here. Outside there are also a few places to view , post office tree & boot , fountain &some old cottages. Also some nice views of the Mossel Bay beach

Interesting selection on the history of Mossel Bay
Really enjoyed the Bartolomeu Dias hall Maritime museum). The replica of the ship (Caravel) he arrived in the bay in 1488 on display is a must visit. Great little coffee shop there too.
