While in Cervantes...
While in Cervantes, it is a short drive to lake Thetis. Allow 30 minutes to walk around the whole lake, otherwise you can walk a short 200 metres to see the wonderful and interesting stromatolites through the water. There is an interesting Dreamtime story for those interested, about the rainbow serpent. Nice place to visit if you are in the area, highly recommend the short trip from the pinnacles.

Living Fossils
This is close to Cervantes and down a dirt road. From the car park there is a boardwalk that takes you right to these living fossils in the lake. There is a 1.5km loop walk around the lake too where will see more (but not as good) stromatolites. Worth a visit if interested in geology, biology or similar pursuits.

Enjoyed the lake and boardwalk
Lake Thetis is described as a saline coastal lake, located just out of Cervantes and accessible by limestone road off Hansen Bay Lookout Road. Good information signage, the lake accessible by a short boardwalk and, if feeling energetic, there is a loop around the lake. The water in the lake was clear but seemed inert. Very windy on the day but not a deterrent to the bush flies.
