Small but worth going
A great little find tucked away in downtown Freetown. Enthusiastic and friendly staff who are passionate about sharing the history of the railway system in Sierra Leone. Don't miss it!

Super visit
Lovely way to spend an hour, staff very friendly, informative displays and great to get into the carriages and see the engines. Overall, it’s a super space, very well kept and an interesting piece of history! Well worth a visit.

Very Interesting
I always wanted to visit here as I had heard good things about it. Its quite a way from Freetown centre near to the docks area. The guide was excellent, informing us of the country's railway history, showing us maps of where the railways ran and why. He also informed us of the reason why the railway fell into disuse and the way the local population dismantled the tracks. There are several steam engines there, mostly made in the uk, and several carriages. One of which was made for the visit of Queen Elizabeth. There is a small shop on site and you are encouraged to leave a small donation as it is more or less self funded. Well worth the visit.
