Lovely day out, with or without kids!
Lovely day out, on a fabulously sunny day. I can imagine if the weather isn’t pleasant and its raining and cold, it wouldn’t be as much fun, as most of the viewing and experiences are outside. Although, you can go in and see the houses and shops, this must get quite tricky particularly on busy weekends snd school holidays when it gets busy as the room inside is quite tight. The volunteers and staff around the BCLM were all very friendly and polite. We managed to get a parking spot in the main carpark, its costs £3.50 for the visit and you pay as you are leaving at one of the machines inside the main entrance. We had a good look round and stopped for chips too (note not vegetarian or vegan!). We spent about 3hrs here, walking round at a leisurely pace, and talking to the volunteers. Well worth a visit! Note, lots of building work ongoing currently as they are building the 1940s to 1960s complex. Will be great to see that once its all complete later in the year.

Brings history to life, but pricey.
Some great experiences and really friendly staff bringing history to life. Not ideal for older children, but what is? I loved the school experience. Queues were not too long for shops and refreshments once inside, although prices are high as expected anywhere there is a captive audience, however, service in the cafe at the entrance was slow and disorganised. I felt admission was high too, I'd wait until the new industrial section opens to get your money's worth.
