Hybrid of a pool, a beach, and a water park.
Epperson Lagoon is a nice alternative to the beach/pool/water park. It is a hybrid of all three I would say. Pros are that it is spacious even when sold out, it has different activities to suit all personalities, and it was clean. There is also food available in the lagoon. Con, it is pretty pricey depending on what activities you choose, and everything is priced separately so it adds up fast. The day we went there were food trucks present and a cafe was open. The food at one of the trucks was pretty basic but fine. Nothing to write home about. The place was sold out so there were some lines for some of the added attractions although it did not seem to be too bad. Activities you can add on include everything from umbrellas to floating cabanas, and an obstacle course to kayaks. Definitely worth a visit to see what all the fuss is about, and you can decide for yourself, but I would go back.

    Need more food trucks!
Overall fun! The majority of the lagoon is roped off for the obstacle course and kayaking, so the swim area is deceivingly small. But even with a limited free swim area there is plenty of room and it didn’t feel too crowded. The kids had fun on the obstacle course, which was an extra $11 for 40 minutes. Only suggestion is more food trucks. There were 3 for lunch which wasn’t adequate for a sell out crowd of 2,000 when no one can bring their own lunch. And the staff at the hamburger truck was terrible - I mean, clueless and slow. Super annoying so I deducted one star. I have no issue if you don’t allow outside food and beverage but shame on you for making people wait in line for an hour in the hot sun bc you don’t provide enough capacity.
