    Well worth a stop
We were fortunate to visit while a gallery was showing a collection of quilts made by African women who lived in India- an amazing combination of color and innovation. We also enjoyed the permanent collection-a spectacular Horace Pippin stood out. Helps to have wealthy alums.

wonderful small college museum, with Buddhist monks making sand sculpture
free museum largely for Wellesley students who you can see sketching some of their favorite paintings. From ancient Americas and Rome and Greece to very contemporary with nice histories of the acquisition of the collection and the role of Wellesley alumnae and their families. Museum set on bucolic campus of this all-women's liberal arts college. Highlight of special exhibits was visiting Buddhist monks making sand sculpture that will later be destroyed.
