Easy Walk
This is an easy "trail" along the river. I like to detour onto the town docks to see what's new.The trail is popular with the local dog walkers.

Great trail
We completed the 56 mile trail in South Bend from Chehalis. This section was mostly paved. Otherwise the countryside is farmland with a mixture of dirt, large and small gravel surfaces to hay and grass to rutted terrain. One bridge is out and in one area fallen trees took out a section that was easily bypassed.

Family Bike Trail
The Willapa River Trail stretches from Riverfront Park in Raymond to South Bend next to Highway 101. It is mostly paved, flat and separated from car traffic. There are a few short sections that run through parking lots and side streets. Our family found it a very pleasant ride, although sometimes the headwind was challenging. The total distance from downtown Raymond to downtown South Bend is approximately 5 miles. For the last mile or so through South Bend, you can ride along on the shoulder of Highway 101. For a quieter option, use the crosswalk at Minnesota (Margaret Olsen Park) and continue on the residential streets until turning right on First Street. Before First Street becomes gravel, turn right and go a block or two until you reach Highway 101. Then, use the sidewalk path to get to the business section of South Bend.
