Whatcom Falls Park, Washington, United States

Quiet walk in the park
We arrived at about 10:30 and spent almost two hours walking the trails and enjoying the falls and derby pond. Some local ducks, Canadian geese, and a rare diving bird with mate were enjoying the pond. There are well placed benches around the pond. We happened to go on a beautifully sunny day however with it was a bit chilly since most of trails are in the woods.

Some wonderfully green space with a small and calming waterfall
Very green and lovely park with a beautiful waterfall and a number of hiking trails. The Whatcom Falls Park is located in the quaint town of Bellingham. While the hikes aren't super difficult, you don't need to hike at all to see the waterfalls - it is only a few feet from the parking lot on a paved trail. You have the option to walk around a little to get on top of the falls as well. The waterfalls are not enormous, but they are very pretty and had a soothing effect. There is a stone bridge with a view to the falls, that looks magnificent in the setting as well. The park isn't far from downtown Bellingham and is a must visit if you are in or around the area.

Whatcom Falls is also a very well known and explored trail in Whatcom County, and provides many recreational activities.
Known for it’s beautiful nature, made waterfalls throughout the park Whatcom falls has a park feel to it, considering it has a playground for kids to enjoy, a tennis court sidewalk trails along with rooted trails, and offers viewing of a salmon sanctuary for people to visit. The park has many small loop trails within the park to venture off on. The park itself is a 4.0 mile round trip plus, “3.5 miles of trails connected to the park. The park is busier than Galbraith so there are not as many wildlife like up in the mountains. In the park, visitors can find themself seeing a deer or more walking along the trail. The trails are more intown, so it’s most likely that if walkers or runners walk too long on trail they can find themselves at the Barkley Haggens or better Lake padden since the trails all connect in the Whatcom area. Unlike Galbraith the trails are the more typical flat running trails, never really having to go up steep hills, and considering the paths that are run on are either concrete or gravel people don’t have to worry about tripping on roots much.
