Waterfront Renaissance Trail, Washington, United States
4.5 (182 reviews) Spent Ranking #4 in Vancouver Hiking Trails
Great place for stretch break, history & views
Had a couple hours to kill before attending a nearby memorial for one of my cousins. Easy to find parking near the trail. Took a walk one hour south. Zillions of people enjoying this trail and area. The river is beautiful, cafes available fronting the trail, obviously a favorite with both locals and visitors. I will come back for a jog or walk next time I am in town!

Discovery loop ( east side)
We started on the east side parking on 5th at the old wooden fort Vancouver. Followed the trail through the meadow to the land bridge, designed by the same woman who designed the viet nam war memorial in D.C. Across the land bridge to the old apple tree. Under the tunnel to the waterfront then east on the sidewalks to the other side of the air field/ museum. Then left again to the parked car on 5th. Easy, paved, and super interesting. Recommended

Nice Riverfront Walk
This trail is beautiful at night, but be careful, there are a few shady spots. During the day, you'll see lots of squirrels, ducks, geese. Can look for shiny quartz treasures on a couple short beaches. Lots of joggers and couples, people with dogs. Not much bathroom access on the east side of I-5.
