Worth your time

Excellent historical stop to see a beautifully preserved mill. The docents were very friendly and knowledgeable providing a thorough tour of the interior that’s open to the public. Very interesting history of the area.

    A nice little historical surprise
I have driven on I-90 hundreds of times and finally took the time to go to the old grist mill in Thorp. It is so worth the few minutes drive off of I-90! There is a docent to answer all of your questions, but the one we had allowed us to wander on our own. For the photographer, there are opportunities to take close up pictures of some pretty cool old pieces of equipment. The small grounds around the mill are pretty, too. Food was not available for purchase at the mill, but they did have cold bottled water for sale. For food, go back to the fruit stand. It is definitely worth the trip.

    A fascinating piece of history
This interesting building has been lovingly restored by volunteers, and gives an insight into the daily life of early Washington settlers and the complex process of processing grain. We very much enjoyed our tour with the expert docent and the lovely rural setting of this historic gem.
