The Schmidt House is more than just about the brewery.

I can highly recommend The Schmidt House. Our family held a Celebration of Life for my Lovely Bride. She grew up in the local area and Tumwater held many special memories for her The staff was so very helpful in helping us set up and accommodating any special needs we had. The house and grounds, especially the rose garden, are not to be missed for history buffs! .

    Don't repeat my mistake
Periodically the local paper has announced a tour of the Historic Schmidt House with famed tour guide Bob Crim but I never felt moved to call for reservations until one recent cold, rainy winter day. Now I'm kicking myself for waiting so long. This place has everything - an engaging tour guide and curator, great views of the bay and the falls, impressive architecture, the history and family home of the first owners of the Olympia Brewery Company, great stories from romance to ghosts, gardens and lovely landscapes - all in the winter months with summer walking tours along the privately held Tumwater Falls. There are also historic lectures at noon the third Thursdays of the winter months. Don't make my mistake of delaying to view this great place.

    Olympia Brewery Art Show
We saw that it was a display of the Olympia Brewery artwork/billboards/advertisements. It was our first time here and the house is very nice and the artwork was great. Original watercolors that had survived in a basement for years. Man how advertising has change through the years. These were all original works of art that were used in everything form billboards to six pack packages. Well worth a visit.
