What a surprise!

Wonderful museum located on the Columbia River. The history itself is worth the trip, but the exhibits include something for everyone. There is a nice walking trail around the park with sculptures. There was live music outdoors the day we visited.

An excellent museum that is extremely well done!
We had planned on going to another museum but due to The REACH Museum's limited hours right now in early May, Fri. & Sat 10 - 4:30, Sun. noon - 4:30, and since it was Sunday we stopped here instead. We're so glad we did! It is wonderful! We loved the geology area with the geologic clock and so much more, the Native American artifacts, the Hanford exhibit, the Cold War/Manhattan Project exhibit, the timelines, the beautiful grounds. Now we will need to return and bring visitors with us next time. A real treat!

Small but Filled to the Brim with Great Information
When we arrived we were a bit underwhelmed by the size of this museum, thinking it would be all of a 30 minutes visit. It is surprisingly larger inside than its outside suggests. It took 3 hours to see it all and we could've stayed for another hour to see a few more details time allowing. I had read a review about REACH that complained that the parking lot was full of weeds and chuckled when I saw the parking lot for what it really was - full of native plants as if they were in their natural habitat. This was planned and not due to lack of care from the folks at REACH. The other side of the building is very well manicured in contrast. The exhibits were very compact and it was like receiving information from all sides at once, a little overwhelming at first. From fossils to floods, nature in its four seasons, the preservation of the REACH and Hanford cleanup, it is a good overview of what has, is, and may be happening in the area. I was actually sad to see how few people visited on father's day since they offered a discount to them on that special day. There was also a temporary exhibit of butterflies - beautiful exhibit. The lady at the front desk was very welcoming and friendly. Would recommend
