Don’t miss this treasure trove of historical exhibits.
My husband and I spent over an hour looking at all the wonderful exhibits here featuring the history of Grays Harbor and the Poulson Family who lived in this house. Poulson Lumber Company was largest in the world and began in 1895. Many gems throughout the exhibits. The curator was very informative and friendly. Don’t miss this treasure trove of history of the Hoquiam area!

Excellent Local History and Forestry Industry Museum
My wife and I travel with a group of senior citizens from our local senior center. We visited the museum on our trip to the Aberdeen and Westport area. We had a group tour and presentation by the museum curator. He was very interesting. The museum contains many local artifacts from the early logging industry of the Pacific Northwest. The large barn type building houses a steam engine locomotive and a log hauling tractor. This museum is definitely worth a stop.

A return to old Grays Harbor County
Unfortunately, the locomotive restoration has temporarily fallen by the wayside, but the mansion is crammed with displays of historic items that represent just about all facets of local history as well as showing how the well to do of the area lived when logging was the source of local wealth. Interesting and informative.
