    The Academy Building
This is one of the most historic, original, and historic buildings left in Vancouver, Washington, U.S.A. It dates back to about 1873 and was one of the original buildings of the Catholic Church designed and built with the help of many others by Mother Joseph, Sisters of Providence. It was the convent for the Sisters of Providence and also an all girls Catholic school. The all girls Academy graduating girls from high school, was closed in 1962. Since that time it has become a building of offices. However, the chapel is still original and is open for weddings. The Fort Vancouver MAIN Public Library is across the street on Evergreen St. and C Street. They just gave a one hour tour on Friday, July 26, 2013. It would be great to take the one hour tour.

There Is Some Construction Work At The ACADEMY Right Now!
I have walked by the Academy several times in the past few months. Wondered what it was like. I have read that it is popular for weddings. Other than this, I don't know much about it. So thought I would walk around it. I discover that it is closed to the public at the moment while some work is being done on it. Still it is an interesting building to look at. So I walked all around it and took some photos. I thought the old boarded up building next to the tall tower with the word "ACADEMY" was quite a site. I wonder what it was used for? And I wonder when the construction work will be competed. Would be nice to see what the inside looks like.
