Great family activity if you don't ski!
We are Okies, as in, from Oklahoma, where there are no mountains to ski, let alone go snow tubing. We didn't have boots or snow pants which made me a little nervous. We did have hats, gloves, scarves, etc. But it was a PERFECT day. We had so much fun! We had no idea what to expect really, but the website was helpful and a quick Google search netted a couple of videos. This was the perfect activity for the whole family; our boys are 13 and 14 and we parents are not, um, very athletic, and we ALL had a blast. The park attendants were so nice and everything was very well organized. There's a lift that takes you back up the mountain! : ) My boys wore tennis shoes with extra socks, athletic pants with leggings underneath, several layers of hoodies, etc., and gloves. We were all very comfortable! It was so fun to have something to do in the mountains that wasn't skiing! We also saw several families with 2-3 year old kids that were also having fun.

Buy tickets ahead of time, often sells out
I had a blast snow tubing. There are lots of "slides" so you don't usually have to wait more than a few moments for a turn. It was fast and exciting but also felt very safe. Buy tickets ahead of time for a specific time slot. Some time slots sell out and you don't want to drive all that way just to be turned away. The one problem was the "magic carpet", which is like a moving sidewalk back to the top of the hill. The line for this was very long and slow. The line extended so far that people were standing at the bottom of the runs, and sometimes a rider would crash into the line of people. (Tip -- if you are going too fast as you approach the end of the run, just touch your feet to the ground to slow down, it's easy.) Plus the magic carpet is very narrow, so if your tube is lying flat dragging behind you, which is what everyone was doing, your tube drags along the carpet at either side, and that makes your arms pretty tired after a while. After a while I realized that I could hold my tube up on its end, so it fit on the magic carpet, and that was easier for me. The magic carpet is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5. We just walked back up the hill a couple times, instead of waiting for the magic carpet. If I were younger and stronger I would have done that every time. The staff were friendly and helpful. When our time slot was over and everyone had to leave, my daughter realized she had lost her hat on our last run down the hill. One of the staffers rode a tube down and quickly snagged her hat as he slid past, and returned it to us. Thanks! Overall this was a great time and I would definitely go back.
