Long trail that is muddy in spots
The trailhead was a little hard to find, but we loved the one hour hike to this beach. There is very little elevation change, so the hike is not challenging, but I would not call it easy. It takes at least 45-60 minutes to get to the beach. The were several muddy parts of the trail, so expect your shoes to get dirty. If I only had time for one beach, I would select an easier one to get to, but this was a fun one to check out.

    Shi Shi with Kids!
I'm leaving this review because we were traveling with 4, 7 and 9 year old kids, and we could not figure out if this would be ok with children. Here's our take: The kids loved it. We went in July, and there were enough salmon berries ripe for the picking on the trail that walking became like a game. It hadn't rained in a while so the mud was minimal and was easy to walk around. The descent was our biggest concern. We were worried about the 4-year-old, but in the end she was fine, and it was the 9-year-old who was freaked out. It's essentially a steep incline with ropes to help. It looks a little scary, but at no time did I feel the children were in danger. If you have small kids, I would recommend having one adult per child to hold hands and help. In the end the 9-year-old faced his fears and went down step-by-step. Once we hit the beach, everyone agreed it was worth the effort to get there and the kids absolutely loved it. The climb up was easier than the climb down.
