it's easy to forget where you are while here
This is a beautiful park, sandwiched between some pretty busy roads. It's a nice stretch of the legs to walk around the whole lake. There is a dock for fishing, and welcome restrooms. I look forward to many walks here with my daughter, who now lives in that neighborhood. I visited with my adult daughter, but had to choose "solo" with "sort of visit" because she's no longer a child. MANY senior citizens would do things with family and no minors.

    Neighborhood Oasis
Since I only live a couple of blocks from this park, it's not uncommon to see me either walk through the park or take a walk around the lake. In spite of the traffic noise you hear off 196th, I've always considered this to be Lynnwood's little oasis. The main attraction is the short walk around the lake. Great for families with small kids. Just take your time. Average walker will take about 15 minutes to walk around. There are some interpretive signs here and there telling about Lynnwood's history around the park. The highlight of the walk is the boardwalk that takes you out on the lake. Took a bit getting used to at first. There are some picnic tables near the parking lot and restrooms. There's also an upper area with tables. Either drive down a couple of blocks or take a steep walk from the lower area. In all it is a nice little park. There are some downsides, but for the most I've never had issues. Homeless people do use the park to sleep in which I'm sure is not allowed. I just walked through the park and lake about a week ago on July 4th and have never seen the paths so beat up. With the wild winter and windstorms, some of the side paths were closed off and even though we haven't had much rain in a while some the paths which are usually dirt with bark were just absolute slop in places. The city has some work to do, but I'm sure they will get it back to normal soon. So be forewarned if you go shortly after this review is posted. Don't let it deter you though. Scriber Lake is still the best place in Lynnwood to get a nice nature walk in.
