Pacific County Courthouse - Absolutely gorgeous!
The Pacific County Courthouse, built in 1910, is an amazing building. The exterior is very nice, but the interior is fantastic! Besides the winding staircases between rotundas the 26 foot diameter stained glass dome along with the stained glass in the courtroom is a sight to behold. All this beauty in a town of 1,600 population. If you get anywhere near the SW Washington coast you really should see this facility. You'll be glad you did. When you finish looking at it you can then have some great oysters at South Bend or nearby Raymond, WA. South Bend is situated on the Willapa Bay which is considered the oyster capital of the world. One of every oyster consumed in the USA comes from Willapa Bay. They are fantastic, especially the barbecued ones at one restaurant in town. They are barbecues fresh to your order!

Architechture at its Finest!
What incredible architecture and such an unexpected find. If you are in the area, go see this old courthouse on the hill. It was built in 1910 and has wonderful detail and beautiful grounds. Unfortunately, they were closed the day we were there but still enjoyed the sight. There is a pond full of big fish surrounded by huge flowering bushes and trees. The Magnolia Tree was in full bloom and loaded with flowers. If you like old buildings with amazing architecture...stop here. We can't wait to go back and check out the interior.

Most stunning courthouse both inside AND out!
There is a little creek that runs beside the grounds that is beautifully manicured and yet still natural looking. COURTROOM looks to be from an old Perry Mason show! Beautiful stained glass dome and inner ceiling of the Superior Court room! Worth the stop!!!
