Some idiot vandalized this
Some idiot recently vandalized the bike in tree. August 2014. They cut off the front wheel and handlebars. It's still cool to see but, unfortunately the splayed skins of the vandals responsible are not yet on display. If I had my way the next new Vashon attraction would be the bleached carcasses of the culprits.

Bike in tree
Although still quite interesting to see it is sad that over the years people have vandalized this unique obscurity on Vashon Island. So for others if you come to see this little oddity please respect the property around the tree and please photos only

Interesting but Sad
We visited "The Old Bicycle in the Tree" and while it is a nice diversion and was probably at one time quite a sight to see, unfortunately it was not under the supervision of any group and people have removed and taken most of the bicycle parts.
