    A fascinating and rewarding visit
The Northwest Carriage Museum in Raymond, WA, can easily be called a world class museum. Every piece in the museum has a story to tell, and Jerry, the owner will gladly relate it. Even if you have no experience whatsoever with horse drawn vehicles, by the end of your visit you will be amazed at what you've learned. It's fascinating. Jerry and his wife, Laura, have traveled the country, finding these often neglected vehicles, and restored them to their former glory. I can't imagine the number of hours, the painstaking attention to detail, and the absolutely beautiful work they have spent on the carriages, etc. Even more amazing is that they have restored each piece to the point where they can be USED. Not that they do, but they can be used just as they were used, in some cases, 150 years ago. I highly recommend you spend a day at the museum.

    WOW!
I thought I knew a lot about carriages before I came here. I found out that I didn't know anything. As I found out here, there were as many different carriages in the 19th century as there are different types of automobiles now. Each different type of carriage was made for a specific task. The vast majority of the carriages in this museum have been fully restored & are in like new condition. The lady that ran the museum was very friendly and able to answer any question I had. This is one of the best museums I have ever seen! This is a must see!
