Awesome assortment of plants that grow well here

Larger than I expected when I parked my car. Plants are labled and google will tell you all about them if you ask. There was no one else there when I visited - it is open to the public without charge. The paths are well marked and it is easy to navigate but they are not paved paths. If it is dry for a few days they would support a wheelchair but not after a recent rain. It is run and maintained by volunteers and partially supported plant sales. I will return for each season to see how the plants change over time. There are a few that might want for my garden but I want to see them in different seasons.

A gem of a secret garden in Vancouver WA
I often visit this peaceful collection of demonstration gardens, not only to glean ideas but to observe the birds and just relax. Each demo garden is designed towards a different garden style yet still provide for local birds, bees, butterflies. The paths are either wood-chip or gravel and can accommodate wheelchairs. Do wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a camera or use your phone camera to collect garden ideas. This place offers interest year round as the garden changes with the seasons. It is an educational garden and good for old and young, couples, families, or solo visits. It's wonderful that it is free admission - other places might charge. If you enjoy gardening I highly recommend this place. Parking available at CASEE center adjacent to gardens. Information from the website: "The Wildlife Botanical Gardens are a cohesive blend of specialty theme gardens, spread over three acres in Southwest Washington. The gardens, and devoted gardeners, demonstrate and teach gardening concepts that attract birds, butterflies, hummingbirds and other wildlife to residential gardens. Come visit the Wildlife Botanical Gardens year-round and enjoy the unique beauty each season has to offer! Enjoy strolling through the pathways of nine theme gardens and get ideas for your own home garden. Many plants are identified - look for labels at the base of large shrubs or trees, and in front of many smaller plants. The gardens are open daily, year-round dawn to dusk, for self-guided tours. There is no admission fee."

    Lovely place to stroll
Wonderful butterfly garden, orchard, wetlands, forest, etc. with a good mix of native and typical garden plants. It was a hot day, yet very comfortable because of all the shady areas. Easy to find and about 30 mins north of Portland, Oregon and 20 mins north of Vancouver, Washington.
