    The Awesome Alaska Ferries!!
My husband and I took a 25 day vacation from Bellingham to Haines, Alaska. We used the Alaska Marine Highway ferry system as our transportation between cities. We had staterooms on the M/V Malaspina and the M/V Matanuska, and rode the M/V Fairweather between the shorter connections. There aren't enough superlatives in the English language to express how much we enjoyed our trip!! The staterooms weren't fancy, but that wasn't what we wanted anyway. What they were was Clean and Comfortable!! We had our own bathrooms with plenty of hot water and we slept like babies. The food was amazing, plentiful and varied, and delicious!! We loved the peace and relaxation of being on the ferry, it was absolutely fantastic, and we'll definitely take another trip this way!!

    Quiet peaceful trip from Alaska
We took the Matanuska from Skagway to Bellingham about 3/12 days in total, we are 2 seniors in our early 70s and decided on a 3 berth cabin. The embarkation in Skagway was seamless and with the COVID situation found the ship to be relatively quiet, the cabin was what we expected clean a little cold but the purser was kind enough to give us a second blanket. The staff was wonderful the ship is old but performs very well, ship was always on time, food was very good and an excellent value. I did not miss the lack of wi-fi or TV but instead enjoyed the view from the forward viewing lounge. Overall I would recommend the Matanuska to anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing way to see our beautiful 49th state. Nice job Matanuska
