    Wine at school!
As a teacher, when I heard there was in a winery in an old school house, I knew I had to go! (When else can you drink wine in school and get away with it?!?) Super experience! We sat outside on the beautiful deck that wraps around the back and side of the building. It was a lovely setting for a tasting. Our server, a VERY tall young man, was kind and very knowledgeable. He told us soooo much about the area wines, and suggested some great wineries to visit that we hadn’t considered. He was even a tiny bit familiar with the area of California we were from, so we were able to talk a lot about wines from there too. We bought some GREAT wine, and they even happily provided us with boxes to ship our wine home in; they even gave us one to hold wine we hadn’t even bought yet! How nice is that? If you go, be sure to go downstairs. There is an original little drinking fountain down there in the hall by the bathrooms! So cute!

Taste much-loved wines in a vintage setting
We enjoyed the special atmosphere of this nicely converted old schoolhouse, with its original bell, wood paneling and floors, and some remaining fixtures from its school days. This is one of the first wineries established in Walla Walla, and their wines are popular. The red wine lovers in our group were very happy with their tasting and purchase of several varieties. I was disappointed that there was no Chardonnay available that day, but I had fun checking out the non-wine shopping and looking at old books. The staff was gracious to us, and to other visitors. Definitely worth a stop.
