Beautiful

Absolutely beautiful. I've never been and it was serene and perfect. Even with the amount of people, it didn't feel crowded. Well caredfor, and clean. I wish I had camping supplies. Would have stayed.

    3-family visit to Lake Kachess
We stayed at a lovely rental home overlooking lake Kachess in the summer of 2013. We were 3 families with kids ages 15, 14, 14, 12, 11, and 10 at the time. Hiking up to Mirror Lake was a highlight for most of us (3 of our party really don't like hiking, but we made them do it anyway!) It was a moderate hike, and the lake definitely deserves its name. There's a great lookout and small waterfall, too, that made the hike even better. We spent a couple of afternoons on the lake itself. It was clear, clean, and wonderful for the kids to paddle around in kayaks. You do need to have a Parks permit to enter the area where you can access the lake.

Beautiful lake, clean but noisy campsite
This was our first time here in ages. The gal at the kiosk was not very helpful--no map, no welcoming information and didn't answer with confidence when we asked about open campsites. We stayed in campsite 66 Ina tent with no camp sites directly beside us--just across the street. It still felt highly populated and the people across from us were loud and up all night. On the upside, our site had a lovely lacquered picnic table, plenty of space, a fire pit with grate, and plenty of twigs and small downed trees to turn into fire wood. The bathroom had running water (toilets and sinks, no shower) and was pretty darn clean for a campground. It got cleaned and well stocked each morning. The lake is GORGEOUS as is the backdrop. We took a short hike which was beautiful. We loved that we could bring our dog. Overall, a good trip.
