Easy hike, great reward

This is a neat pit stop on any San Juan trip. It’s a very easy hike and such a cool memorial. Definitely recommend checking out. Just search “mausoleum parking” in maps when trying to find it, other wise the listed address takes you to a private residential area.

    Worth the short hike to see
    Just a short, easy hike, through a cemetery, to the mausoleum. Read the plaque before entering to get a better appreciation of all the detail and symbolism put into this. Went late in the day and there were only two other groups there. Everyone was respectful as far as giving space for pictures.

    Unique and Unexpected
    If you're taking the time to visit Roche Harbor, then don't miss the short walk to the Mausoleum. It's a strange piece of history and worth the exploration. You won't need to spend too much time there - but it is pretty powerful in person. And, you'll likely see deer or other wildlife while you're out there
