Icicle Ridge Winery, Washington, United States

4.5 (61 reviews) Spent Ranking #3 in Peshastin Wineries & Vineyards

Gorgeous winery & wines

Had one tasting flight of 3 wines that you can modify to fit your personal tastes. Beautiful mountain-lodge building and grounds. Outdoor (and large tables indoor) seating to enjoy your wine (by the glass if you want). Bought 4 bottles of 2 that I liked and 2 my spouse liked. Was disappointed to not be able to try the huckleberry riesling (rieslings are my favorite), which may be a seasonal item.

Nice short stop to or from Leavenworth. Not crowded either.
This is a beautiful winery just outside Peshastin, across the river from US 2 east of Leavenworth. It's about a 15-minute trip from Leavenworth. The building has quite interesting log construction with cool amenities. The wine is good - recommend the sampler first. This place is a wedding venue.

    Snowshoe Event was Lovely
We were fist time visitors to the winery for what was supposed to be a showshoe hike followed by a wine dinner. There was no snow! Don was determined to keep us entertained though and his staff had a very nice spread of cheese, charcuterie and crackers for us while we tasted a newly casked sangiovese port. Afterwords we took a small walk through the vineyards which was nice, followed by Gluhwine made by Don's wife, Kristen which we drank by a fire pit. After the Gluhwine, we went into the stunning log home for dinner which was a three-course meal of vietnamese beef soup, chicken and shrimp with rice, mango chutney and curry sauce and a pear and caramel bread pudding. Don entertained us with some tenor sax and we were introduced to the property owner (who built the log house by hand over 6 years!), Louis. The ONLY thing that could have made the evening better would have been to offer the wines that were available for purchase as a tasting. You could purchase a glass or a bottle for dinner but I think I would have bought MORE had I been able to taste more. It is possible that there were people there who were more familiar with Icicle's wines and wouldn't need a taste to know what they liked. Perhaps offering a flight as an option in addition to purchase by the glass and by the bottle? Anyway, it was a great time, we will definitely go back. Maybe for a summer concert.
