Love it

Love the plover ferry! It’s open weekends- saw it running today! Take a wander to semiahmoo for a few hours and then come back - both rides are a little different and just plain fun! Sometimes you can take your bike too

    Best attraction in Blaine!!
For only $5 (adult admission price) the historic 1944 Plover, piloted by "Captain Dale", took us on a short, round trip cruise to Semiahmoo Spit. The Plover leaves the marina ever hour, on the hour, from noon til 8pm. Once you arrive at Semiahmoo you'll have time to explore the beaches, docks and old cannery buildings before heading back. (Be sure you don't miss the return sail back to the marina if you go late in the day.) Each leg of the trip lasts about 20 minutes. From the boat we saw seals, eagles and other wildlife, and you can also see the Peace Arch monument, Mt. Baker and the Canadian town of White Rock during the trip. On the return voyage the captain let me steer the boat for a good distance, explaining different nautical & piloting terms to me along the way. (Captain Dale was one of the best things about this little excursion. He's very friendly, talkative and funny!) Round trip fare was only $5 each. You may leave additional money if you wish in a jar located below deck to help with operation and preservation of the Plover. (We also left a $5 tip for the captain!) This is a "must do" if you're ever in the area!! A+++++

Our Grandsons loved this boat ride, even after being on a sailboat at the Semiahmoo Marina.
We were on our sailboat for the Fourth of July docked at the Semiahmoo Marina and took the boat ride across the Harbor for a walk to Blaine Harbor and then to get ice cream at Edaleen Dairy. The boat ride was full both going and coming and our grandsons were in "Awe" with the boat Captain and all the hundreds of birds they saw along the rocks. It is a nice ride between Semiahmoo and Blaine.
