Beautiful experience
We purchased tickets for a tour and lunch at Heronswood with their new Director, Patrick McMillan and were delighted with his knowledge and engaging personality. It was a beautiful day and the small group of 15 in attendance, made it a very pleasurable experience. The garden continues to shine and never disappoints, regardless of the time of year we visit. This is a must see for anyone visiting the area.

Magnificent and Understated at the same time.
I went on a tour of Heronswood yesterday with a friend who lives in Kingston. It was AMAZING! The Director lead our group. He is so knowledgeable and entertaining. I am not a plant expert, but I learned a lot. It was a two hour walk around the garden. There are not tours all the time, but even on a self guided tour the garden is worth the admission and some. I have visited many, many gardens in the United States and in Europe. Heronswood is unique, both in its philosophy, and its scope. They are also a venue for weddings. My daughter is getting married sometime in the near future. I would love to have her married there. The setting is magnificent and understated all at the same time.
