Granite Falls Historical Museum, Washington, United States

5.0 (8 reviews) Spent Ranking #8 in Granite Falls History Museums

History goes "high-tech" to make it available to everyone.

This small museum provides cyber-tours of the town and area history. You can digitally overlay vintage maps and original homesteads with modern property lines and aerial photos. You can search decades of old newspapers for family names and keywords. You can search thousands of old pictures and documents electronically, and leave with prints of any size. Best of all, the entire museum has a close-up feel that brings the local mining, railroading, logging, and homemaking to life.

    Top notch little museum
This is a great local history museum, well worth the stop. Especially if you are at all interested in NW industrial history like logging, mining and railroads, you must check this place out. It is well put together and detailed, without being boring at all. I've been many, many small local museums across the US & UK and this one is in my top 3.

    A History lesson
This Museum is a must see if you want to have a good understanding of what made the town of granite falls and the mountain loop area. the historical society has done a fantastic job of collecting our local history and presenting it in a easy to view format and incredible displays. the volunteers are very knowigeable and love to share with everybody that visits. Come with questions and leave with memories. a wonderful way to start a trip around the mountain loop highway.
