A must do!
if you are driving through the Northern Cascades this is a must see. The parking lot leads to a short, easy trail with overlooks above the lake. Cross the road and walk on the bridge for a great view of the thunderous falls.

Nice waterfall on route 20
Normally this time of year there's lots of water coming over the falls but due to the low amount of snow this winter it's not as dramatic as it typically is. It's still nice and worth a visit.

Barely Visible in August of 2015
There is a large pullout on the south side of the North Cascades Highway (WA-20) at mile marker 123 with restrooms, a few picnic tables and an accessible trail to an overlook. However, this overlook only provides some okay views of the gorge and a mostly obscured view of the Gorge Dam. There is a trail beyond the overlook that follows the Skagit River back towards Newhalem but we found the views along this trail were not particularly good either. We found the best views of the Gorge Creek Falls are actually accessed by using the crosswalk at the eastern end of the parking lot to cross the road and then by walking to the pedestrian walk along the bridge. Unfortunately, we visited during the height of the drought in August of 2015 and the falls were barely visible but still interesting. Given the severity of the drought, these falls must be quite nice during more normal times. There is another falls on the other side of the bridge that is not nearly as high but worth a look as are the better views of gorge from here.
