Efficient ride to Vashon Island
My family took our car over the island via the ferry on Memorial Day. The cost for the ferry ride was expensive ($36 for our car, $5.55 for me and $2.75 for my son). But, the return ride back was at no additional cost. The ferries were fairly new and the ride was a short 20 mins. It was so short, we didn't get out of our car.

Easy Access to Vashon/Olympics
The ferry terminal is about 20 mins from downtown Seattle and gives you easy access to Vashon Island and the Olympic Peninsula. Made sure to check the schedule well ahead of time and download the WSDOT app for updates. Avoid commute times otherwise you may have a long wait in the ferry line. And keep an eye out for orcas and whales on the boat.
