Oldest Church in Washington

The historic Claquato Church is the oldest church building still standing in the state of Washington. This was a Methodist church built in the now unincorporated town of Claquato--once a promising and growing community. The church is located near the historic Claquato Cemetary.

Perfect for a "little white church wedding"
I wanted a "little white church" wedding 1) because I didn't want a big wedding, and 2) I was on a budget. It holds 52 people and was the perfect size. It only cost me $50 for the day and they let us in the night before to do a quick rehearsal. The inside is kept extremely clean (no worries with my white dress), the yard was perfectly groomed. We were here August of 2013, but I didn't know that I could write a review until now.

    Cute Little Church
Claquato, WA is a town that isn't really there anymore, except for a church and a ecemetary, but a hundred and fifty or more years ago, it weas the county seat of Lewis County, Washington. But then, the railroad decided to build its tracks on the east side of the Chehalis River, and the village of Chehalis was much more logical to be the county seat. So, the story goes, one night, some men came out the Claquato, stole all the Lewis County records and moved them to Chehalis, which was declared the new county seat of Lewis County, Washington
