Cat Tales Zoological Park, Washington, United States

3.5 (106 reviews) Spent Ranking #2 in Mead Nature & Wildlife Areas

Not a Zoo-Day type place

If you're looking for a fun day for the kids, try a different place. This isnt a Zoo, it's a refuge. It's a place to learn what NOT to do when owning big animals. Bad decisions pets now live here, alone, sad and very visibly bored. Unfortunately, they operate solely off donations so they don't have nearly what they should. Adults & children should visit with the intention of learning & helping. I hope they get more help.

Cat Tales is well worth the visit.
If you are in the Spokane area, Cat Tales is well worth the visit. Be aware that this is not a zoo; it is a zoological training center and is focused on training zoo-keepers and the rescue of big cats. Whenever we have company from out of town, we plan a visit to Cat Tales. I love the way the tour guides (who are students in training) share the story of each big cat. This is a facility run by caring individuals and depends upon donations in order to continue to care for these animals.
