Good time

We had a great time, the water was cold but apart from that we had a lot of fun. No too many people and everyone was following social distance. The store and the gift shop was close (covid-19), the cafe is open until 2pm. Not sure if the boat rental is open.

    My kind of "camping"!
I am not much of a camper, having grown up in a large city. This was a good way for me to "rough it" a bit with my 5 year old son in tow. "Glamping," as I call it, or "glamorous camping." The cabins are clean and had great amenities. We stayed in a waterfront cabin and I think that is the way to go, unless you opt for a Deluxe cabin, which have bathrooms with showers. The waterfront cabins are literally waterfront. The water comes right up to the cabins at high tide (there are bulkheads) and the view is unobstructed. Standard cabins do not have bathrooms but there is a central bathroom not too far away that also has (pay) showers. The bathrooms were also very well maintained as was everything else we encountered there. We got a tour of a Bungalow and they are awesome. 2 bedrooms, one with twin bunkbeds and one with a full sized bed. There are 2 twin trundle beds on opposite ends of the living area. (pulls out to make 4 twin beds) There is a bathroom with toilet, sink & shower. They have nice patios and are kind of tucked away at the end of the beach with a pretty private yard in front of bungalows that are next to the beach. Some important notes: Cabins have a bedroom with a door that closes and a bed in the living area. The beds are full sized, which may be a bit small for 2 adults to sleep on unless you are a "couple." The 2nd row standard cabins have twin bunkbeds in the bedroom. I wouldn't stay in one of those unless you need the extra bed, though, as they do not have a water view. There is a medium sized refrigerator with a small freezer (old school kind where the freezer cools the entire fridge, so may have frost buildup, full sized microwave and small coffee pot with permanent filter. (I think it's a 4 cup size; you do not need to bring coffee filters.) There is hot & cold water in the cabin. They provide hand soap and cleaning supplies. You have to bring your own linens, towels, dishes & cooking equipment. There is no stove. I recommend bringing a grill or camping stove. Technically you can cook over the firepits but there are only 2 of them and people will probably be using them already. They do provide free firewood. There is forced air heat with a thermostat. There are curtains on the windows but the cabins are not soundproof. Same for the little bedroom. (some gaps in wood/drafty) I recommend bringing an eyemask & ear plugs if you like to sleep in. I had cell phone access but no internet at the cabin. I hear there is wifi at the main building/cafe. There is a small playground with a sandbox in an old boat and swings. There is a little store open from 10-4 where you can buy little necessities, souvenirs and popsicles/ice cream. You can also check out toys, games & puzzles for free. No cars are allowed at the site so that is a bit of a pain but made it much safer for kids to run around. You have to unload at the upper level and put your stuff in a shuttle van to take down to the cabins, so make your bags easy to lift! The shuttles only run during business hours (I think 9-5) so do not arrive late or you will be sorely disappointed in having to schlep all your stuff down a huge hill. They do provide wheelbarrows to help with getting your bags around. There is a grocery store not too far away (by car) which might be a good option for restocking if you are there for a while. It is not a terrible walk up to the parking areas but the shuttle can take you as well. The Cafe, although advertised as only open on weekends, was open for breakfast & lunch while we were there midweek (maybe because it was summer?). The beach is a typical WA beach with rocks instead of sand. Lots of sealife to discover.
