Big Four Ice Caves, Washington, United States

4.5 (105 reviews) Spent Ranking #1 in Granite Falls Geologic Formations

Almost nice!

I called it "almost nice" because the bridge is removed and you can't get the last couple hundred feet. But even so the hike to the bridge was really nice. If you're there in the winter it takes about one hour to get from the parking area where they shut the road down to the parking area where the trail starts (snow shoes would be helpful).

    Great walk
Long drive from Tacoma but well worth the trip. Took my students on a field trip and really enjoyed our time at the park. The hike up to the caves was fairly easy. Even though it was raining, it was fun hiking up to the caves. I would recommend going the spring though. There would be more to see

    Ice Caves are awesome
The short hike to the Ice Caves are well worth it. Seeing this creation of nature is awesome. I've never seen anything like it before. You can go up to the entrance of the caves and take pictures, but heed the warnings not to enter the caves. They are quite unstable and I witnessed a large piece of ice break off from the rest of the roof of the cave.
