Well Done With Pleasant Folks

Living on an East Coast tourist town, very much wanted to visit here - very impressed with the looks , organization, and mix of businesses in the downtown area. Everyone was friendly and helpful with special thanks to the woman in the Information kiosk just outside the ferry terminal. Much appreciated the mix of essential services, hospitality establishments, and some tourist oriented stuff downtown - this is difficult to do but done well here. Made for an enjoyable visit. There's a lot of things to do in a relatively small area. Spent an afternoon and just barely scratched the surface. Highly recommend, spend a day if that's all you have, but really needs more. Thanks to everyone who was so gracious & helpful to us in town.

Small town at its best, a ferry ride from Seattle, lots to do!
Winslow is the downtown area of Bainbridge, easily accessible by foot or car on the ferry from Seattle. Excellent restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries, shopping and summer Saturday farmers market make this a favorite destination. Stroll to waterfront park for a picnic. A truly enjoyable place to spend the day, eat well, have a famous ice cream, sip the best espresso around and shop great boutiques.

Cute area with lots of shops
Cute downtown area, and an easy walk from the ferry terminal. Lots of small shops and galleries, several cafes, coffee / tea places, and a wine tasting room. Not all the shops were open on a Tuesday (mid day), which was rather surprising since late August is prime tourist season. Overall it was a pleasant little area to explore if you've come over on the ferry for just a day trip.
