Halloween pumpkin walk

My daughter and I were just passing by and decided to stop in. How wonderful is this place? We love the Fall and everything Halloween. There is a decorated pumpkin trail for the enjoyment of everyone. Lots of creative ideas here. The shop sells household items that are top notch. Really recommend this place not just for a nursery. It’s fun to browse around.

A shining example of what a garden center ought to be.
We came to Bainbridge Island to see this place and the Bloedell Reserve. For me it is a toss up which comes in first place. They have a wonderful aesthetic sense, strong retail spirit, and an excellent selection of nearly everything, all packaged up in a very interesting place to walk around and discover things. To be honest: I am building something akin to this place, so I drove there to look at the place and steal ideas. But the ideas were freely given. Maybe the most interesting garden center I have ever seen. And the have a very nice littl coffee shop too. If you are on Bainbridge Island, you should consider stopping there.

    Island heritage
This is one of the highlights of local business on Bainbridge. A third generation family nursery continues to thrive and is a pleasant experience. Despite competition from big box retailers with cheaper prices this place keeps going with good selection and good personalized service. It is a living history example of how a family business was devastated during WWII and then recovered by the son of the original founder years later. It was actually a popular tourist attraction in the years leading up to the War and then it all ended when Federal Troops took away many Bainbridge citizens to place them in concentration camps for the duration of the War. When the owners returned the place had gone to ruin and the family was demoralized. But several years later son Junkoh Harui started the business again and began rebuilding remnants of the original property. It is a nice nursery with a decent café on premises and a living memorial to the wrongs of WWII.
