Ashford Creek Pottery, Washington, United States

4.5 (32 reviews) Spent < 1 hour Ranking #3 in Ashford Points of Interest & Landmarks

Gallery, museum, bookstore…there is something here for everyone!

This is a fantastic gallery featuring local art. I live near Rainier and buy art here for myself, but I would recommend this unique gallery to anyone visiting from out-of-state who would like an amazing souvenir of their trip that is classy. The gallery also has a unique book corner with new and used/collectible books where Mt Rainier and mountaineering are featured along with other books of local interest or focused on nature, national parks, etc. Take time to visit upstairs….owner Rick is an avid art collector himself with a strong appreciation for local history…all of which is well documented in the art he shares with the public.

We Stop, and Take Every Visitor, To Ashford Creek Every Time We Travel To Mt Rainier
Ashford Creek Pottery is a must-stop business whenever you are in the vicinity or as a destination. Ashford Creek is not a junky, touristy, made-in-xxx souvenir shop. It is a fantastic collection of the work of local artists and authors. Rick and his staff are congenial and a wealth of knowledge. There is no expectation that you make a purchase but obviously that would be appreciated. Don't forget to ask their advice on what to do in the area. . .he might have a pleasant surprise for you. When we eat at local restaurants, I always recommend to other travelers a stop at Ashford Creek Pottery. Ray A.

A must visit stop on the way to Mt. Rainier
Rick, the owner has a great eye. In addition to works by local artists from several decades he has a wonderful book shop with unique, hard to find books on climbing, NW history and regional art. He has some special gifts. Most amazing is the his personal gallery of fine art he has on display as a second floor museum. Ashford Creek Pottery would be worth the stop for the museum alone.
