9/11 Spirit of America Memorial, Washington, United States

Deeply Meaningful
I cannot say enough in favor of this memorial. I am very passionate about remembering what happened on 9/11, so I was excited to find a memorial not far from me. It surpasses memorials of cities much larger than Cashmere! The life-size figurines which are positioned such that you can stand hand-in-hand with them bring a personal touch to the viewer. There are several plaques commemorating each airplane lost. I appreciate the presence of a part of the Pentagon and a piece of steel from one of the Towers. There is even a survivor tree. I just visited for the second time to find that there have been new additions since the last time I saw the memorial. Now there are four memorials inscribed with the names of every victim; one for the Pennsylvania crash, one for the Pentagon, and one for each of the Trade Towers. Altogether, visiting this site is a moving, deeply meaningful experience.

9/11 Memorial is wonderful
Yesterday was the 20th Anniversary of 9/11.How fortunate the city of Cashmere, Washington is to have such a beautiful and touching memorial. I would recommend visiting it. Besides the central statues commemorating first responders, airline captains, office workers and flight attendant, the memorial also has monuments to Flight 93 and its victims, the Pentagon and the World Trade Center. Easy access to this monument off of Hwy 2. Beautiful setting and FREE.

Well done Cashmere - very nice remembrance of our Americans
We stopped in on our vacation to look at the memorial. It is excellent. They have a piece of steel from one of the towers and also a piece of the façade of the Pentagon. The twin towers have all the names inscribed. This is a small memorial but worth your stop to remember.
