Fabulous!
Focused on the human experience through the vibrant history of the city of Mons, the museum has permanent exhibits in French, Dutch, and English. The multi-media and well-documented displays provide an immersive environment for all ages. Rotating exhibits highlight other aspects of life in Mons; the current one describes the effects of colonialism.

Very informative museum
A great museum for telling the stories of both WWI and WWII from the town’s perspective. I hadn’t realised that the first major encounter on the Western Front had been in the area. Definitely worth a visit. Note that it opens at noon while COVID restrictions are in place.

Worth a visit
This modern museum is well worth a visit. If arriving by car it’s remarkably easy to miss, luckily there is a tank parked outside! All exhibits are clearly and fully labelled in English and paint a picture of the lives of the townspeople through 2 world wars. By the end I felt that we had learned a lot and wish we had visited as we arrived in Belgium rather than on the way home.
