Informative Museum Worth Visiting

The museum, which is right next to the field in which the "Malmedy Massacre" took place, provides an excellent history of the Battle of the Bulge. An informative 15 minute movie provides a history of the area in the context of the battle. The museum houses original uniforms and equipment. I toured the museum in about 1 hour and it is worth visiting if you are interest in World War 2 history.

    Outstanding WWII Museum
My buddy and I went to Malmedy to see the area where many sacrificed, and while we knew nothing of this excellent collection of history, it surprised us in a way that puts it at the top of my list...it was very complete for such a seemingly small place/collection. This is somewhat of a spoiler review for others, and for that, I apologize. We spent hours pouring over the displays, watching the movie and marveling at the detail. I've been to many of the mainstream war museums, which are very complete, having much more in the collection, and I expected this. Baugnez 44 gets a 5 rating because it was one of the unexpected stars of our battlefield trip. We approached the owner, and as we addressed him, he snapped to attention, telling us he was honored to have two Americans and former/current military members there...he knew that so many Americans, and Allies, paid a huge cost to ensure he and his family were free from the Nazis. The museum has a humble beginning, and building the collection over the years, was a labor of love for the owner. We had huge respect for both the enthusiasm he showed and the dedication/attention to detail he had paid over the years, adding to this collection. Highly recommend this museum, and it's not far from the actual Malmedy Massacre location.

    War museum
Well worth a visit if interested in what actually happened in the area during the 2nd war. A bit disturbing for younger people.
