Sailing Into The Sunset ... If There Is A Sunset!

A well organized schooner sailing experience. About thirty guests and a crew of four travelled two hours on the York River. Covid-19 presentations and USCG Safety Briefings were appropriate. The challenge for this vendor is an unusually large number of uncontrolled variables. Our experience was a sun-free, sunset cruise, a sailing experience without wind and an offering of amenities limited by Covid-19 controls. With no outside food and beverage allowed, we were limited to house wine, beer and soft drinks, some snacks and cold hot dogs, all offered for sale at reasonable rates. The Mate providing the spiel regarding schooners, sailing and local history was informative and helpful but not able to give guests full attention during her sailing duties. The Guest areas on deck are minimal, uncomfortable and not conducive to social distancing. No availability to restroom facilities was problematic for several guests from the start.

    An anniversary party to remember
It was our 50th Anniversary and we invited 18 friends and family to be our guest on board the Sunset Cruise to celebrate. Every single one of us thought this was the best party starter they had ever gone to. We loved the two young men who gave their talk about the boat and safety talk and the history of the Yorktown Bay. They knew what they were talking about and sprinkled in just enough humor to make it really interesting. The weather coopered by giving us the perfect sunset (much like in the picture above.) The only thing that was confusing was the 2 different departure times on THEIR emails. One said they leave at 6:30 and another said 6:40. We got there at 6:33 and the Captain let us know we were holding things up and was suppose to leave at 6:30 PROMTLY. All in all it was GREAT!!!!

    Best sailing charter for kids
A perfect cruise for your excited children and grandchildren! The pirate cruise is a interactive cruise especially designed to hold the imagination of your young ones. Raise the sails with the pirates get to sail the ship and get a special tattoo from one of the pirates. This one and a half hours is money well spent creating a special memory.
