4.5 (2.438 reviews) Spent Ranking #3 in Arlington Monuments & Statues
Beautiful site and marks one of the outstanding events of WW2
Commonly called the "Iwo Jima Memorial," the statue is a depiction of the famous raising of the U.S. flag on Iwo Jima and is dedicated to all Marines who have given their lives defending that flag.

A great tribute to our Marines!
This monument is only truly appreciated by visiting the site. Although I have seen many pictures of this monument, standing before it and appreciating it’s majesty is a bucket list experience. There were U.S. Marines on site speaking with visitors which added to the visit.

Beautiful memorial
If you’ve seen a show or movie about DC, you’ve probably seen this Arlington memorial. It’s much bigger than expected and there is also more than just the statue itself as there are many plaques and signs to read about it. As the other reviews mention, there’s ample parking.
