Money Museum of the Bank of Lithuania, Vilnius County, Lithuania

A very small but a very great museum in the very heart of Vilnius.

Thank you Bank of Lithuania and thanks to your lovely staff at the museum! I’ve learned more about the history of payments and money all over the world in two hours than I’ve learned in 60 years before and as an extra plus a lot of Lithuanian money history. The exhibition is very, very pedagogical done and the staff is very helpful and skillful. They also offer you handheld English audio guides that help you through the exhibition and can you believe, everything is free of charge. I’m very impressed that you can do so much in a so small area. I was also lucky to be witness to a World Record trying or Guinness record trying to build the ever biggest pyramid of money. I can strongly recommend a visit to this very good museum and I will come back, because I’ve still have something to look through. This is a must when you visit Vilnius.

Learn about Money and have fun doing so!
The best organized museum I have found to date in all of Lithuania! Exhibitions on two levels, plenty of money to see, very interactive, exhibits in four languages, very clean, excellence staff, and lots to see. Provides an excellence history of money from primitive times to current. How coins are minted, an interactive coin press is provided for the visitor's use. There is a hall dedicated to the money of Lithuania, from the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, to the occupation of both the Soviets and Germans, to present day. You can even find out how much you are worth if you were made of gold, silver or platinum and take the results home with you! Fun and educational for the entire family and admission was free! Easy to locate on the corner of Gedimino Prospect and Totoriu gatve, about a block before the Vilnius Cathedral,

    look at all the monies
A cool and neat collection of local and foreign currencies with history to boot. It's a great little stop for anyone, as the displays are genuinely compelling and interesting to look at. I was really pleased with the 25 minutes or so I spent there, it doesn't require much time at all.
